School Announcements for the New Year

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year!  I hope you have enjoyed the holiday season. 

Here are a few school announcements:

CLASSES:

Beginner Classes – We will start 2 new beginner classes – Wednesday, January 8th at 11am and Thursday, January 9th at 7pm.  Fang Laoshi will be the instructor for both classes.  Please let me know if you, or anyone you know, would like to join either (or both) classes.

Beginner Push Hands Class – Will meet at 6pm beginning Wednesday, January 8th.

Saber Class – We will start a saber class on Wednesday, January 8th at 8pm.  Please let me know if you would like to join this class.

SEMINARS:

 Sword Seminar – Master Yang will give a 2 day Sword Seminar on Saturday, January 11th and Sunday, January 12th.  Location is the HollyHill Clubhouse – 1 9200 Hollyhills Drive NE, Bothell.   Seminar hours for both days will be 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm.  Tuition is $295 (includes Registration Fee).  If you need hotel accommodations, the 2 closest hotels to HollyHills Clubhouse are County Inn Suites (425) 485-5557 or Residence Inn (425) 485-3030.  Please let me know if you would like to attend Master Yang’s Sword Seminar.

Push Hands Seminar – Master Yang will give a 2 day Push Hands Seminar on Saturday, February 22nd and Sunday, February 23rd.  Seminar hours for both days will be 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm.  Tuition is $270 (includes Registration Fee).  Currently, this Seminar will be held at our school location.  Please let me know if you would like to attend. 

RANKING:

               We have changed the date for our annual school ranking.  It will now be held on Sunday, March 30th at 2pm (originally scheduled for March 2nd).  If you are interested in applying or would like information about Ranking, I will have a Ranking Meeting on Saturday, February 1st at 1pm.  Please let me know if you plan to attend.

NEW TUITION INVOICING:

               We are going to implement a new tuition invoicing system beginning February 2014.  Mike Lucero will send an announcement with instructions.

As we bring in the New Year, on behalf of Master Yang and Fang Laoshi, I wish you much happiness, success and good health.  May 2014 be your best tai chi year, ever!

Holiday Closures and New Classes

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well, enjoying your practice and classes while adjusting to our crisp Fall weather! 

Following are a few announcements for holiday closures and new classes.

In observance of Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year holidays, our school will be closed the following dates:

 
Thursday, November 28th
Tuesday, December 24th
Wednesday, December 25th
Tuesday, December 31st
Wednesday, January 1st

We will start 2 new beginner classes on:

 
Wednesday, January 8th at 11am
Thursday, January 9th at 7pm

Please let me know if you, or someone you know, is interested in joining either, or both, of these classes.

2014 Sword and Push Hands Seminars

Hi Everyone,

Fall is here!  I hope you’re adjusting to our crisp and cooler weather.  Quite a few students are not feeling well, so please make sure to take care of yourself as we adjust to the change in weather.

We are planning two seminars for 2014.  Please let me know if you would like to be placed on the Seminar list:

  1.    Sword Seminar – This will be a 2 day event with Master Yang as he reviews the 67 Movement Sword Form.  Tuition will be $250 for both days.  There is also a $20 Registration Fee.  This Seminar is scheduled for January 12th (Saturday) and January 13th (Sunday).  Seminar hours will be 9am to 12pm/2pm to 4pm.  Location TBD depending on number of attendees.
  2. Push Hands Seminar – This will be a 2 day event with Master Yang.  Tuition will be $230 if your register by December 13th and $250 if you register after December 13th.  There is also a $20 Registration Fee.  This Seminar is scheduled for February 22nd (Saturday) and February 23rd (Sunday).  Seminar hours will be 9am to 12pm/2pm to 4pm.  Attendees must be members of the Int’l Association.

Are You Interested?

Hi Everyone,

Are you interested in joining a:

1.  Student Group Practice – Mondays from 7pm to 8pm (starting October 7th) – led by Chris Lester

This will be an additional Group Practice Session open to all students.  Participants will have the opportunity to practice the Traditional Hand Form, Weapons and Push Hands.

2.  Basic Push Hands – Wednesdays from *6:30pm to 7pm (anticipated start date of November 13th) – led by Nancy Lucero

This class will focus on the foundation of Push Hands – circling.  Participants will learn the basic methods of circling – horizontal, vertical and open arms.  Class initially scheduled for 30 minutes and may progress to 55 minutes (6pm to 6:55pm) when appropriate.
